Orthopedic Physician Assistant (PA-C) – Hand & Upper Extremity

AdventHealth Medical Group is seeking an Orthopedic Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join a growing Orthopedic Hand and Upper Extremity practice in New Smyrna Beach, FL. This position works directly with Dr. Sonya Clark, a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand, wrist, elbow, and upper extremity care.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a Physician Assistant with an interest or experience in orthopedics, hand surgery, or upper extremity conditions to join a well-established, patient-centered orthopedic program within AdventHealth’s integrated healthcare system.

Position Overview:

The Orthopedic PA-C will function as an integral member of the orthopedic care team, with responsibilities in both the clinic and operating room. While the primary focus is hand and upper extremity orthopedics, the role also includes participation in general orthopedic call, including coverage for conditions involving the hip and ankle.

This position offers a combination of first assist surgical duties, independent clinic time, and close collaboration with the supervising orthopedic surgeon.

Key Responsibilities:

  • First assist in orthopedic surgical procedures, including hand and upper extremity cases
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage orthopedic patients in clinic
  • Maintain an independent clinic schedule
  • Perform pre-operative and post-operative orthopedic care
  • Collaborate closely with the orthopedic surgeon and care team
  • Participate in shared orthopedic and hand call coverage
  • Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently
